At the mouth of Dragon’s Talon River, and the base of the Dark Mountains sits the heart of Turus, the capital city of D’nem. I’ve only been once but as with the royal family, once was enough. The city seems to rise from the wastelands like jagged spires of obsidian carved from the land itself. The city is cloaked in eternal night whether by shadows cast from the Dark Mountains or clouds of ash that constantly hover around the nearby volcano, Amon Kareth. The city itself is surrounded by large stone and obsidian walls that terminate far overhead in sharp points. The city guards are large motionless statues with burning red eyes that seem to track your every movement. I’ve never seen them move but i shudder to think what devastation they wreak when they do. The people of the capital are mysterious and quiet, they smile with wide toothy grins that send shivers down the spine if you dare to meet their gaze. However, D’nem is by far the best place to go with problems of a questionably legal nature, mercenaries, assassins, and thieves are plentiful there though they come at a price. Though, for thieves it’s best to go to Kisoun if you want professionals. I’ve heard rumors that if one has a need D’nem is the place to go to find the best assassins in Vivaeda, a place that no one I’ve ever spoken to will name. Then again, if i believed every rumor i heard i’d have crawled into the bottom of a bottle years ago. Unless it’s absolutely necessary i’d steer clear of Turus, and only go if you have a guide, someone you can trust. Cant stress that enough, or you may find yourselves at the bottom of Amon Kareth naught but ash.
